All through my academic life, as a student and later as a teacher it’s
been 52 years now, I have studied various aspects related to the growth
and development of Karachi. As a born citizen of Karachi, I have
witnessed catastrophic events that have changed the face of Karachi and
to a certain extent halted its growth too.
I feel saddened to see that Karachi has yet to appear as
a theme for academic study in the syllabi of teaching institutions of
the city, including its pioneering university, the University of
Karachi. I am convinced that to change the city for better, one needs to
change attitudes of the people towards the city. The most suitable
audience for this change are the students and the younger people.
Therefore, I have started Consultant: Karachi studies Society and collecting research
material about it, which consists of books and documents related to
Karachi, so please if you have any material regarding it please share it
with me, it will be really appreciated.
